Our Founder Antony Jinman

Antony Jinman is a British polar explorer and environmentalist. He is known for his expeditions to the Arctic and Antarctic regions, as well as his dedication to environmental education. Jinman is the founder of the “Education Through Expeditions” organisation and is renowned for being one of the twelve Britons to complete an expedition to the Geographic North Pole from Canada in 2010 and a solo, unsupported ski journey to the South Pole in 2013. His adventures and efforts in promoting environmental awareness and action have made him a notable figure in the field of polar exploration and education.

He was awarded an Honorary Doctor of Education by the University of the West of England in 2012 in recognition of his contribution to education and his initiative approaches.

In 2014 he was further recognised by Plymouth University and awarded an Honorary Sporting Colour for his solo expedition to the Geographic South Pole.

When Antony isn’t leading his own expeditions, he works as an Expedition Leader for Swan Hellenic which enables him to engage with adventure tourists to learn about the polar regions.

This video documents our 51-day journey across the Arctic Ocean to the Geographic North Pole in 2010.
